Executive Protection
There is a balancing act that must be achieved when providing Executive Protection to a celebrity, VIP, employee, board member, or C-level executive. In the "business," it's referred to as the security-freedom scale. The greater the threat, the greater the measures taken to ensure security - while limiting and/or controlling the movements of the principal being protected. And this is why the first step in any protective operation is the assessment of risk. As an example, the head of security for a large corporation contacted Minders Protective Services after his CEO had received two letters that were threatening in nature. Although the letters were anonymous, it was suspected that a recently terminated employee had written them. A risk assessment was immediately conducted, and a full background check of the individual was launched. Concurrently, and as a precaution, four Minders' agents were dispatched to provide security for the CEO. Within hours, it was learned this former employee had a criminal background and was the subject of a murder investigation. Surveillance operations were then initiated to monitor this person's activities during the "hot period." This refers to the period of time a disgruntled employee is likely to take action following a termination or other specific event. The total investment made by this company in engaging protective services was approximately $45,000.00. The result of this investment? Nothing. Mission accomplished. |
